COMCARE members have the opportunity to purchase the Department of Public Welfare's (DPW) required stop loss reinsurance from COMCARE PRO. Begun in 2004, COMCARE PRO covers eighty percent of inpatient costs exceeding the $75,000 attachment point or if you choose, a $100,000 attachment. PRO also offers the option of RTF coverage, rated separately. All applications are subject to an actuarial review and underwriting process. For an application and additional information, please contact Christie Ward at (800) 895-9039 or cward@pacounties.org.
The COMCARE website provides members with a place to go for help, share responses to RFPs, provide data to help counties negotiate contracts, and review documents used by other counties. Visit our site today at www.ccapcomcare.org.
Through the COMCARE website, members have access to information concerning potential providers of actuarial, legal, MIS and other services. If a survey of counties/joinders shows enough interest, group RFPs would be developed on behalf of participating counties.
HealthChoices Retreats
Years ago COMCARE began to offer members the opportunity to gather in an informal setting to share information and compare notes related to their overall experience as HealthChoices behavioral health administrators. Since then the retreats have become an opportunity for quality, finance and children & youth peer groups to gather and speakers are often invited to share information on a variety of topics. For more information contract Christie Ward at (800) 895-9039 or cward@pacounties.org.
COMCARE members have the opportunity to win registration fees, travel, meals, and overnight accommodations to local and national conferences on managed care. COMCARE posts sponsored opportunities on the website and members can register online.
